Each to there own when it comes to holidays. If you want to go bowling in Vegas fair enough. I've no room to talk, most of my holidays revolve around watching 22 men kick a bag of wind around and I rarely have a problem getting a few people to come with me. It's Sweden for the Euro Under 21's this summer and South Africa for the World Cup next summer. I may even go and sit on the beach for a day in South Africa, I dought it though.

Just a few comments...

Don't feel as though you have to justify your hobby to anybody else. Bowling is what trips your trigger and as long as you're not asking the taxpayers to subsidize your vacation, I have no problem with it. Bowl away. Bowling doesn't really interest me at all, but that doesn't really make a difference. Different strokes for different folks. It makes no difference to me what your hobbies are or how you spend YOUR money on vacations.

I WILL disagree with you on your viewpoint that the comment section is 'retarded' and 'pretty damn[ed] useless'. Your blog page is hosted by the WestAllisNow. They pay for the computer servers and they pay the monthly charges to keep those servers up and running (Internet domain registration fees, Internet connectivity fees, electricity, maintenence, etc). You contribute by giving them CONTENT to put on those servers. Your comments to TRAVLER seem to imply that you have thin skin and that you're worried about what people write on this WestAllisNow owned web page (under your Blog) regarding comments that you make. If stupid comments are made by people here, they are typically rebuked by others who read the blogs on this site. The only way I would agree with your decision to always preview comments and/or turn the comment section completely off was if you were to completely own an Internet domain such as www.mjamessays.com and pay for it ENTIRELY out of your own pocket so that you could control everything about it.

You have to admit that there have been some spirited exchanges among some of the other blogs here. A prime example of this is happening right now on Laura's blog yet about Superintendent Wachholz' 11.7% raise. I haven't seen you chime in over there and I sort of expected you to do so. Join the rumble, it's fun!

Not to mention saving money for 50 weeks only to give your money to someone with his hand stretch out surrounded by bells and whatnot, with the faint promise of making more money." It is called V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N. I work my *** off for 51 weeks - both at my job and working to improve my bowling game - for that one week a year that I can try to call myself a champion. Will I ever get there? Probably not, but I have a hell of a good time trying.

And if staying in a $31 room for three nights and free for two more nights is wrong, then the next time YOU go out of town, then you can give me the $100 a night instead. What a stupid comment.

Saving $5-$10 on hotel rooms and buffets means that I get to GO ON VACATION instead of STAYING HOME for another week. It means having the means to spend $70 on The Rat Pack is Back tickets instead of sitting in my hotel room watching the local news. And whether I spend my money on gambling, prostitutes, crack or building a homeless shelter for little puppies, what the hell is it to you?

The point of this entry is "I can't wait to go on vacation because...", not "Please judge what you think of my vacation plans". Just for you, travler, I am turning the comment feature off while I am out of town. I usually leave it on so that unreviewed posts go up right away instead of holding for approval. But your asinine comment - and don't get me wrong, I am not a thin-skinner, I just don't give a rats *** what you think (if you wanna say something, start your own blog) - proves my point that the comment feature is pretty damn useless.

So far, the Brewers have shown that it's deja vue, all over again. How often have we seen the bases loaded this year and very little to show for it on the scoreboard? When Jim Skaalen was fired as the Brewers' hitting coach late in the 2008 season, did you really expect that one firing to make a difference? Not me. It's the PLAYERS, not the COACH. Some of those swings that Braun and Hart have been taking lately look more like Tiger Woods' swing trying to hit a golf ball out of a bunker.

How in the world to you WALK a #8 hitter (the Cubs' catcher) with the bases loaded? I just don't get it.

And another thing... Don't forget in addition to the 3 runs that Jeff Suppan walked in last weekend against the Cubs, Suppan was also directly responsible for robbing Prince Fielder of that apparent grand slam. Does anybody know why?

It burns me to add this, but Gallardo also gave up four runs on walks on Monday, and the non-clutch-hitting Brewers left the bases loaded TWICE without scoring, including having the sacks juiced and nobody out in thr fourth. This season is getting long already....

Everyone knows the Lasagna from Tommasino's is absolutely Fat Free, high in taste, and very low in calories ;)

PS MJ, I seem to be having the exact same problem of pants that fit me 2 years ago being a bit too snug these days...except these have nothing to do with China or India.

I used to work as a 'short order cook,' at Dutchland Dairy on Hampton and about 48th St. It was my first job. I can still hear the orders coming in from the waitresses, the chicken pressure fryer and having fun with all the other employees. A Tub of Chicken included 16 pieces of 4 legs, 4 wings, 4 breasts, and 4 thighs plus french fries for $3.94! People used to wait in line outside the restaurant for a table. We also served breaded perch, haddock and shrimp plates. And of course always coleslaw. The deli and bakery were amazing! Everyday they sliced and packaged baked ham and received cream puffs and fresh bread and pies. I remember the back room where they daily prepared the breaded chicken, and the 'onion haystacks' and the 'secret recipe' for the burgers! I think it was basically ketchup, mayo and pickle relish! At night the twirling neon sign towered in the parking lot with dozens of small lights striding up and down the sign tower. My job paid me $1.70 an hour in the very early 70's. Eventually Dutchland Dairy stores and restaurants closed down and this store became a dry cleaner store afterwards. But all during that time, I couldn't eat anything fried!!

Hi Michael, aside from eating too much lasagna, I've found the same problem with women's clothes. I believe that the Chinese "size" their clothes using Chinese models. And we all know they are shorter than we are and are mere "twigs". I guess they don't eat lasagna!
