Greendale Public Library Foundation to Sponsor Wine Tasting Event

By Greendale Public Library
Monday, Aug 20 2007, 03:09 PM

The Greendale Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Library will sponsor the third annual wine-tasting fundraiser, "Wine-ing Down Summer," on Saturday, September 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Greendale Public Library, 5647 Broad Street.

The cost is $25 per person for advance tickets, $30 at the door. Also available are "designated driver" tickets at $10. Tickets will be on sale soon at the Library and at Chuckie's House of Wines in Franklin, who will supply the wine for the event. New this year, Chuckie's will be adding a beer-tasting table. The event features an excellent selection of wines and beers along with appetizers, live music and a Silent Auction.

Proceeds from this event go to The Greendale Public Library Foundation (GPFL), a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of the Greendale Public Library. The GPLF and Friends of the Library, in cooperation with the Library staff, provide programs for community youth such as the Summer Reading Programs. GPLF supports these efforts through the annual membership drive, and various fundraising efforts throughout the year including this Wine Tasting and the semi-annual pre-owned book sales for the benefit of the Library.

We are looking for auction items of new merchandise, gift certificates, services or monetary contributions. The names of all contributors will be placed on an auction board at the event and at the library entrance following the event. Please remember that all donations are fully tax deductible.

Any questions or requests to have donations picked up should be addressed to Jim Birmingham at 414-630-6625. Donations may also be dropped off at 7325 Edgehill Road, Greendale, WI, 53129.
