The concepts of community consolidation in the interest of developing the community base are now before us. We are aware of the idea and the reality of implementation in the form of an ordinance and in the manner of operation.
Unless we want to dispute the importance of an overall model to guide us in our overall “community” development, then we must follow this logic. Not to do so would then be illogical.
Aware of the need to consolidate development in forming community, we must consider all proposed development projects as to how they actually improve our social setting, our physical setting and our community base and we must prepare ourselves to act on these principles.
With this knowledge now, it would be absurd to go ahead with the kind of project proposed for our river setting at our Village limits on Capital.
To ignore the social significance of development, the environmental importance and the community aspects of this particular development proposal at this date would not be less than asinine.
Beyond canceling out this particular proposal, we must think about making the arrangements called for in the suggested community consolidation ordinance and the commission designed to to implement the ordinance.
We must always keep in mind the overall community and that each brick put in place should become a part of the total entity.
So we must know what the whole of the community will be. For we now know the means for accomplishing this, therefore we must take take action in the interest of our community and in its future. .
